George talks about the school and community activities that helped keep him out of trouble. Describe some of them. Do you agree or disagree that activities and athletics can keep teenagers off the streets? Do you belong to any groups like this?
George has talked about some activities that kept him out of trouble. Some of the activities were Shakespeare Club in elementary school and the Police Athletic League in elementary and junior high school. George played baseball in high school. I agree that these activities kept George out of trouble. I agree because they kept him busy and occupied. If George had all this free time on his hands that just gives an in for trouble to occur. Yes I belong in some school activities that keep me quite occupied like cheer leading and softball.
On the topic of peer pressure, George mention that getting involve in school and community activities helps him avoid the negative pull of our peers. For example, George participates in the Shakespeare Club and the Police Athletic League in elementary and junior high, he also play baseball in high school. These activities kept him busy, so it would be unlikely for him to find troubles, while physically strengthening him, so he can stay healthy. Furthermore it gives him something to occupied his minds, which psychologically encourage him to think positive and also encourage him to look forward to the future. He also mentioned that participating in hobbies and activities provide safe places to meet other kids who shared the same interest. This goes back to the subject how of friends can make a big impact in our life, by having an influence on who we want to be and what kind of lives we want to lead. Hanging out with the right people helps us make the right decision in life. By, surrounding ourselves with the people with similarities, we are reassure of our identity and as well as satisfy our needs of acceptance.
I agree with Cam Tu, He mentioned getting involved in the Police Athletic League and the Shakespeare club. being in extracurricular activites also help you physically and mentally and always keeps you busy. Providing safe places for children with the same ideas also helps them physically and mentally.
Goerge joined/praticipated & was involved in his elementary school's Shakespeare Club, in his elementary & junior high's Police Athletic League, & played basebal in highschool. This activities kept him out of trouble, because those activities gave him and/or his friends(Ramneck & Sam) fun things to which help them occupy their minds and time out of other troubles. Yes, I do agree that possitive activities can keep teenagers off the street, though put in mind that it is also depending on who we are hanging out with/who we interact in those activities (no one is perfect, so no matter if you join possitive activity there are still some friends who would/might pressure you), but I do agree that possitive activities would occupy you with good things/inlfuences. Yes, I am part of my church's youth activities. Being part of church activities will really keep myself out of the negativity I might encounter on my teenage years, I do realized so. Church people are becoming people I look up to.
Yes, I agree with Cam Tu. This goes back to how friends does make "an amount of impact" in youth's lives. What we do/occupy ourselves with does make a difference/does make differences. Though, with friends, there are pressures added to whether what we do/we don't do, that would make a difference/make differences in life. It's the time of their lives, for youth to try to figure who they are, so involving with freinds is the way they can make an understanding of who they really are or who they are well to interact with. Being with other youth who would/can understands you better would likely get to your attention & make you feel like someone does understands you.
I agree with Jonna because the activities George participated in kept him out of trouble in his neighborhood. I do participate activities like our school's soccer conditioning and student council. :)
George participated in many community service aactivities to keep him out of trouble.George was in the Shakespeare Club in elementary school,he also was in the Police Athletic league in both elementary and junior high school. He also played baseball well in High School.I very much agree that activities and athletics can keep teenagers off the Street.I believe this helps kids stay positive and have a positive mind.I also thinks this protects them for what goes on in the streets also, which means it keeps kids sheltered from potential harm.yes,I do belong in groups like this, such as the boys Jv basketball team, and also sometimes I go out with my family and provide for the homeless.Lastly,I participate in Neighborhood Rec leagues in my area.
I agree with Deion. When kids are involved in extracurricular activities, whether it be school, church, or in the community, it keeps children busy so that there is no time for being in the streets. This is important because we are losing a great deal of teenagers to gun violence "in the streets".
I agree that activities helped keep him out of trouble. Some activities that kept him out of trouble were the Shakespeare Club and the Police Athletic League. These activities help keep young kids off the streets and out of trouble. When you are involved in things like those, you are having fun and doing other things and you don’t get caught up in what goes on in the streets. I am currently involved in soccer both in school and out of school and I also bowl for the school. These things help keep me out of trouble and off the streets and out of situations that I should not be involved in.
I agree with Jonna that these activities did keep George out of trouble. Whenever you do things like that, they keep you out of places that you should not be. These activities kept him occupied and out of trouble and they were fun to do so he would do them as much as he could and in doing this, that is more time he is off the streets and out of places or doing things he shouldn’t be doing.
